Indications
Nasal indications.
Allergic and vasomotor rhinitis.
As decongestant in common cold, influenza, sinusitis, otitis media, etc.
Ophthalmic indications: Allergic conjunctivitis and kerato conjunctivitis of all types.
Irritation of the nose and/or the eye by dust, imitation vapours, chemicals, water (e.g. chlorinated water in swimming pools).
Warning & Precautions
Use of the drug for long periods may cause some side effects: Dryness and Rebounded hyperemia (Rhinitis Medicamintosa)

Dosage
As directed by the physician or as follow:
(For adults and children 6 years and over)
As eye drops: 1 – 2 drops every 3 – 6 hours
As nasal drops: 2 drops in each nostril every 3 – 6 hours
Children below 6 years: dosage to be determined only by or on the prescription of a physician.
Adverse Reactions
Uncommon and may occur in some patients in the form of mild, transient stinging and dilatation of the pupil specially with frequent application during the day.
Contra Indications
Narrow angle glaucoma.
Drug Interactions
Concurrent use of maprotiline or tricyclic antidepressants & naphazoline may potentiate the pressor effect of naphazoline.
All sympathomimetic nasal decongestants may cause a hypertensive crisis if used during treatment with an MAOI.
